Introducing “THE BLACK AND WHITES (Some More)” exhibition @ The Yard
Exhibition is on display until July 3.
From Press Release (download here):
To celebrate 4 years in the seedy underbelly of the UK, Ben Hopper presents:
THE BLACK AND WHITES (Some More)
Including new and unseen works, a selection of Ben Hopper’s latest commissioned and artistic will transform The Yard venue with a mosaic of 40 something black & white 120cm prints.
Photographed in France, Sweden, Israel and the UK, these images are a mixture of contemporary circus, dance, cabaret, candid snaps from London’s leading fetish clubs, neo erotica and tattoos.
Following the success of Ben’s first BLACK AND WHITES exhibition in 2010 at Stoke Newington’s Pangea Project, TBAW(SM) brings together striking images with living eccentricities and characters who will inhabit The Yard on Sunday June 17th for an exclusive launch event. Exhibition runs from June 12 – July 3 with a special launch event on the evening of June 17th.
FACEBOOK EVENT with all info:
Teaming up with The Yard, the launch event will have reception drinks, themed BLACK & WHITE cocktails, food, BLACK & WHITE dress code (encouraged but isn’t compulsory), a raffle to win a 120cm print AND a small cabaret with some of the performers who are staring in the exhibition.
Hosted by Desmond O’Connor, the confirmed line up includes Charlie Buckitt (of The Late Night Shop Cabaret), Circus handstand Jonathan Finch, Tom Baker (of The Bohemianauts) and more TBC!

This is event is FREE. However, I am making it happen using my own money and as you know, starving artists don’t have money. I had to sell 3 kidneys to finance this thing, poor people, whoever they were (kidney owners).
If you can support (with money) it’ll help me to keep to cover the expenses, doing my personal work and not die from starving artist syndrome.
We will throw a raffle and the winner will get to keep one of the display 120cm paper prints, signed by yours truly.
Each raffle ticket will be £1 / 5 for £3. All money goes to cover expenses of exhibition production.
Another way of supporting is actually buying fine art limited edition prints from this exhibition.

Some more info about the exhibition:
This is THE BLACK AND WHITES #2.
The title is “THE BLACK AND WHITES (Some More)”.
The first B&W was during May 2009 at Pangea Project in Stoke Newington.
The 3rd one will be happening in about 2 years from now somewhere in London. Its title will be “Return of the Son of THE BLACK AND WHITES”.
Yes, a little tribute to Zappa. The 3rd one will be the last black & white exhibition I’ll ever do. The last sentence was a lie.
